The big media machine keeps pumping the mantra that Republicans are going to lose it or at least come to close to such in a few days. Yes the Republicans had their golden opportunity and ruined it they cry; now let the left leaning Democrat party take control. Your author does sympathize with such figures as Senators Bill Nelson and Joe Lieberman, who were once representative of their party and now are relegated as outcasts. They are not the left wing kooks that have saturated this dying party. It was so bad for Lieberman his own party dumped him; this was someone who was once the Vice President running mate for Al Gore in 2000 and in a gutsy move the Senator is running as an Independent.
Just what does the modern day Democrat party represent? For starters they offer nothing in so far as an economic package. No fiscal policy or an understanding of America’s economy. In fact they have ranted against tax cuts. What they don’t tell you is how much of a negative impact these taxes will be on individuals who incorporate their businesses under the S-corp. filing. This is where the net income is claimed on the individual’s income tax return, the tax is paid and then it is their discretion to invest back into their company.
This is the same party where Presidential candidate Al Gore boldly said that the government could do a better job at securing retirement with social security than the payer themselves. Instead of supporting capital gain tax slashes, which could have a positive impact on one’s retirement, they would rather have you a slave to their system.
On the international front it is cut and run in Iraq and no alternatives when it comes to Muslim terrorists. They offer nothing when it comes to North Korea besides the failed diplomatic policies instituted by President Clinton.
No all they offer is the same mantra that harkens back to the day of Roosevelt’s New Deal. They claim to protect American jobs from fleeing overseas but do not offer a plan. They want the voter to believe they can stop the inevitable global economic tide. This is the same balderdash fueled arrogance that justifies their stance on global warming and stem cell research. This being that somehow mankind (specifically Democrats) can move mountains. They offer little in the way of showing the voter how they will accomplish such a feat.
They play into anger. Senator Hillary Clinton railed against the President when she posed that if you disagreed with the Bush Administration you were unpatriotic. They claim the Iraq War is unpopular but fail to provide the voter with an example of a popular war. Yet they still have no solutions.
They have attempted to give the country Barack Obama as the future of their party. He is on the losing side. Obama would have never gotten his spot if Republican Senatorial primary winner Jack Ryan had not bowed out after a sex scandal involving his ex-wife was publicly revealed. In other words it was a statistical impossibility that Obama is a Senator.
And now if there was any doubt in the voter’s mind about the Democrat party here is John Kerry. The Democrat Senator from Massachusetts and second fiddle to Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy insulted the entire military when he made a statement that suggested only stupid and uneducated people would serve in the military since they get stuck in Iraq. Insulting and belittling our finest is nothing for Senator Kerry. Since his statement he has provided seven smug explanations and what he calls an apology.
It was 1971, the Draft Board had previously denied Kerry’s deferment request to study in Paris, he returns home as war hero. Becoming involved in the social activism of his generation he becomes involved with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. The future Senator then testifies before Congress citing unfounded claims against US soldiers. According to Kerry they are committing atrocities of an unspeakable nature, rape, torture and reckless violence. Because this educated and decorated soldier came forth the anti-military movement has been legitimized. Now it is hip or socially acceptable to look down upon a returning soldier, a baby killer some will say or worse. Your author is sure many Vietnam veterans appreciate Kerry’s contribution.
Folks this is the Democrat party-light on substance, void of answers. This is not the party of John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and certainly not the one that was dominant under the years of Franklin Roosevelt. John Kerry’s statement is only the tip of the iceberg. They are a confused bunch. Unable or disinterested in removing the far left element found in Michael Moore and stuck in time some forty years ago. There should be no doubt the clear choice come November 7th.
