It appears that the Democrats’ celebration will have to be cut short. Yes time to put down the champagne and caviar. Today the world was told what many assumed with a strong certainty that Iran and their uranium capabilities may not be for peaceful purposes. Yes! Can you imagine? Iran a country where their president has previously called for the extermination of Israel could be mining uranium for potential destruction! Is this a surprise or what?

Today the International Atomic Energy Agency (IEAE) released a statement that stated Iran’s attempts at uranium enrichment are unclear. Well thank God the Democrats have taken control of Congress, because back on June 4th Democrat Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware was on Meet The Press and host Tim Russert asked him about Iran. Here is the transcript:

MR. RUSSERT: If the Iranians refuse to stop enrichment, what should the U.S. then do?

SEN. BIDEN: Well, in my view, we’re sort of locked into a position now, because they’ve got the European—the European three, China and Russia apparently on the same page saying they must stop enrichment. I think what’s happening is the Iranians are figuring out there are consequences short of all-out sanctions that affect their economic growth. There’s been a diminution in any investment by the major powers in Iran; not because of any policy, but because of the uncertainty in Iran. There’s also been a drop in their stock market. They’ve had—they’re having some difficulties. And so I think at a minimum it will keep the world united, and move toward a Security Council resolution that maybe holds everybody together and adds additional sanctions from other countries. And that may have an impact.

But as you know, Tim, myself and Senator Lugar and others have called for direct talks with Iran for the past year and a half. I think we’ve kind of seen this movie before in Korea.

MR. RUSSERT: If the Iranians simply refuse, and full-speed-ahead with their program to build a nuclear bomb, should we undertake military action?

SEN. BIDEN: No, we shouldn’t undertake military action now. It should be the absolute last resort. And one of the things that—I’ve gotten all the briefings, as most of the people in my position have, and there is no imminent threat at this point. There is a looming threat, there is a threat of a capacity to be able to demonstrate a real threat to the United States and our allies down the road, but there’s nothing imminent at this point. And we should be playing the inside and the outside game, both in Iran and outside to continue to put pressure on them, because there’s nothing at all certain about the support that this administration in Iran has from its own people. And the one way to unite the 71 million Iranians with a government they do not like would be to attack them.

Furthermore, proof that Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmedinjad cheered as Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Senator Edward Kennedy salivated over their victory, the producer of peaceful uranium enrichment held a press conference that the BBC picked up on. Ahmedinjad stated he was ready to have talks with the US. On the table will be Iraq and whether or not the tyrant can offer assistance. Now all we need to do is dust off former President Jimmy Carter and have him act as a mediator so we can pay billions in extortion, wait that was done before with North Korea.

Meanwhile Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is taking the news in stride. Currently Representative Pelosi, soon to be Speaker of the House, is backing Congressman John Murtha as House majority leader. Since the start of the Iraq War Murtha has offered an alternative-it’s called cut and run. Does it sound familiar? Some of his supporters refer to it as a ‘phasing out of allied troops’, which is cut and run in gentler and more acceptable terms. Murtha, who the Left revel in pointing out his war decorations from Vietnam, also secured plenty of defense spending in 2005, which was a testament to his close working relationship with lobby group KSA Consulting. It should be a close relationship since his brother Robert “Kit” Murtha is a senior partner with the firm. By the way any opposition against Murtha serving in the leadership role and questions as it relates to his role in the FBI sting known as Abscam or other matters have been described by his camp as ‘swift boat attacks’. This is an obvious ode to those who dared to question Democrat Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts claims of Vietnam War bravery during his failed 2004 campaign. Once again freedom of speech and expression when it serves the Liberals, otherwise keep your mouth shut if we don’t agree with you. Your author still asks why his military valor is relevant. It didn’t matter when the question was posed in 1992 during President Clinton’s campaign.

Soon to be Speaker Nancy Pelosi was quoted on November 8th, following the Democrats’ victory, promising "To turn this Congress into the most honest and open Congress in history. That is my pledge. That is what I intend to do".

Honestly your author has grave concerns.
